KINGMAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Parke County Highway Department confirmed Monday that the Bowsher Ford Bridge in Kingman, Ind. is closed until further notice.
A vehicle ran into the structure, a covered bridge, on Monday, a Highway Dept. representative said. The vehicle caused damage, causing the department to shut down the bridge until further notice.
According to the County Highway Department, crews assessed the damage on the bridge on Tuesday and made measurements and estimates for repairs. As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, there was no official word on how long bridge repairs would take, but the department said the bridge will be closed for some time.
