VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The pedestrian walkway between Terre Haute and West Terre Haute is now safer due to overhead lights installed over the past month.
The walkway and lights were both paid for through a joint effort between the state and county. Just a few weeks ago, trash bins and benches were donated by the Vigo County Solid Waste Management District.
The $9 million walkway was built with the intention of creating a safer route between Terre Haute and West Terre Haute. Officials said they hope it will keep pedestrians and bicyclists off the highway.
