TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A man who has been leading community engagement in Terre Haute for the past several years is taking on a new role.
Josh Alsip has been named the Vice President of Regional Engagement for the West Central Indiana Partnership.
The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce made that announcement Monday. Alsip previously served as the Chamber’s Director of Community Engagement since 2021.
The West Central Indiana Partnership consists of Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo Counties.
Alsip will help these partners work together on opportunities for the region.
“The next couple of months, my goal is really to go around and meet with a lot of our local leaders, and I want to listen and learn from them. I don’t want to come in and try to change everything here at the beginning but I think it’s important to understand all of the perspectives that everybody has and create buy-in for what we’re looking to do,” said Alsip.
The Chamber says Alsip will also lead the implementation of the Grow Up IN West Central Indiana Strategic Child Plan, which was recently announced.
As Alsip begins his new role, the West Central Indiana Partnership is also looking for a Vice President of Strategic Marketing. That person will oversee and direct the partnership’s regional marketing.
In addition, Alsip’s move to the West Central Indiana Partnership has opened up the position of Director of Development at the Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce.
