TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO) — A local non-profit that provides diapers to families in need said supplies for a year cost about $50,000.
You can help them continue their mission of helping families with a diaper drive.
This weekend, Covered With Love, a local non-profit diaper bank, is holding a Stuff the Truck diaper drive on Saturday. The goal is to fill the truck with diapers for the organization.
PR volunteer Baley Halberstadt said Covered With Love has distributed over 350,000 diapers since the organization started in 2015. She explained how it makes a difference.
“Diaper need is kind of a silent need, right? It’s not just putting a diaper on a baby and sending them on their way. It is so many different pieces of that,” Halberstadt said. “It is psychological. It is monetary obviously but if you’re not able to provide diapers for your child you can’t send them to school. They can’t go to daycare. It really just has kind of a cumulative effect.”
Covered With Love will be set up at several locations on Saturday for the diaper drive. They will be at Baesler’s in Terre Haute from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and at Chick-fil-A from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. If you make a donation there, you’ll receive a coupon for a free sandwich.
They will also be taking donations at the Walmart in Clinton from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. and at the Paris Walmart from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
