SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Hundreds of residents packed the Sullivan Civic Center to enjoy barbecue, wine, food vendors and games Saturday.
It was part of the Brew Que and Wine Fest, which The Meyer Winery and Sullivan Lions Club collaborated to host.
This event included all different kinds of food and retail vendors along with wine and beer tasting from many local businesses. There were also games and bounce houses for the children to enjoy.
A barbecue cooking contest also took place at this event. There were two different styles of winners for this contest. One was chosen by the judges and the other was chosen by the people in attendance.
This event was also used to help out another good cause in the Sullivan community.
Brandy Gentry is a member of the Sullivan Lions Club, and she goes into more detail on this matter.
“We are giving back to the community by using the kid’s zone money for our teachers. When they are trained, it is going to help our kids learn to read and spell,” she also said, “None of this would have been possible without the help of Pam Meyer and Meyer Winery who had the idea to do this event in the first place.”
The organizers for this event were very happy with the turnout and participation of this event.
