TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Members of 12 points took time to celebrate “Small Business Saturday,” a national initiative meant to put a focus on local business owners.
One of the newest business owners in the area, Truck Stop Owner Bo Turner, said it was great to see the community turnout.
“It seriously means the world for us to be able to do what we love. To open our businesses and be in a town that we love so much. It means a lot to have the community out here and just walk around, support, stop by and to really enjoy just hanging out,” she said.
Several streets were shut down, and a vendor tent was set up near the Truck Stop to allow other local entrepreneurs an opportunity to sell their creations. Including vendors and food trucks, there were nearly 30 businesses on hand for the event.
Turner said the Indiana Small Business Center also had a stand set up to offer resources.
“It was great for them to be here and be a resource, a lot of small businesses utilize them, I utilized them personally, and they are just so supportive of businesses in the area,” she said.
More information on the businesses in the area can be found on the 12 Points Revitalization Facebook page.
