TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — September 13th marked a major milestone for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
The school celebrated its building, Moench Hall, as it celebrated 100 years of existence. The structure has served as the prestigious science, technology, engineering, and mathematics college’s main educational building.
The cornerstone was laid on September 13, 1922, to mark the building’s opening and the Institute’s move from its original location in downtown Terre Haute, starting in 1874.
A third renovation is planned for the building to improve air ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems, remodel offices, and expand student services.
The building is named after the late Herman Moench, an alumnus, and long-time teacher and administrator.
