TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A new competition called “Pitch Black” will provide support to local Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.
Launch Terre Haute will host the contest, the first local pitch competition for Black entrepreneurs. It’s in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and the West Central Indiana Small Business Development Center.
Participating businesses will be able to review their business plan with advisors.
“A group of individuals that started their own business and are already doing things in their own business space so it gives them the opportunity to get feedback, launch their idea and it’s just a great opportunity in general,” said Black Business Alliance Coordinator LT Thompson.
Those looking to participate must reside in either Vigo, Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Owen or Vermillion counties.
The winner of the competition will be featured at the Terre Haute Day celebration on June 18 at the Booker T. Washington Community Center. They’ll receive a prize package with resources to help launch their venture.
The event will be held on Thursday, June 16. Click here for a link to register.
