Paris, Il (WTWO/WAWV) — A group of Paris, Illinois students are spreading positivity across the nation.
The ‘Kindness Rocks’ project involves painting positive messages on rocks like ‘Be Kind’, ‘You Rock’ and ‘Spread Positivity.’ The rocks are placed in random locations after.
If you find a rock you’re asked to take a picture of it, email the student account listed on the paper and place it somewhere else.
The rocks have been found all over the country including Florida, Colorado, New York and Washington D.C.
The students are out of Mayo Middle School with the program Beyond The Bell, it’s funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant. It provides students a chance to participate in a variety of after school activities.
“We made the kindness rocks so we can spread the kindness so that if you’re having a bad day you can put a smile on your face and feel better,” Kaleb Coleman, a student participating, said.
The students say they hope to have rocks all across the world.
