TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – The Vigo County School Corporation held the first of two work sessions Thursday as 2019 winds down.
Thursday’s session focused on the proposed spending cuts. The school corporation is looking to cut spending in several ways, including reorganizing its alternative education and possibly reducing the number of elementary schools.
“Today was just a great conversation on those spending cuts because we’d ilke to bring those forward in January for approval and last opportunity for the board to really tell us some things that they’d like for us to think about in relationship to those spending cuts,” says Superintednent Rob Haworth.
The school board will meet on Friday morning for ratification of the teacher collective bargaining agreement. That will be followed by another work session.
