BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — During the month of August, a number of National Night Out events will take place, and on Tuesday evening the city of Brazil played host to the popular gathering.
Those who attended the event at Forest Park were able to visit with local law enforcement and volunteer organizations. Families also had the opportunity to get free school supplies and free food. Plus, an Elvis Presley tribute singer provided some entertainment.
Officials say they were very happy that so many attended the event.
“Let them know we’re out here. We wanna show off some equipment we have through the police, fire, and medical service. We have other volunteer organizations here to show them what they do for our community. Just here to bring everybody together,” said Clint McQueen, Chief of Police.
“Getting the community together, give them some free food, some drinks. We got some stuff. It’s all for the kids. That’s what we’re here for,” said Andy Jones with the Hamilton Center.
Other National Night Out events will take place on Friday, August 5 in Marshall and in Clinton.
