VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — As of 3 p.m. Wednesday Indiana State Police said all lanes of I-70 eastbound were open following the cleanup of a semi that caught fire and caused major traffic delays for some time.
As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, ISP Sgt. Matt Ames is asking drivers to continue to avoid the area if possible as crews work to clean up after a semi tractor-trailer caught fire this morning near the 25 mile marker. Sgt. Ames posted a video of the fire online here.
According to Sgt. Ames, the fire was caused due to a mechanical issue with the truck. The driver and co-driver were able to escape without injury.
