TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Members of Westminster Village got to enjoy pizza Friday afternoon, while also donating to a good cause.
Friday was the annual Pizza for a Purpose fundraiser at the village.
Residents could choose one of five different 12-inch pizzas for $18 and all of those proceeds are headed directly to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Their goal this year is to raise $10,000.
Westminster Village Event Leader Lauren Kelsheimer said they do events like this all year long to support the recognition and study of Alzheimer’s Disease because many are in need of support right here in the Wabash Valley.
“The Alzheimer’s Association is really close to our heart”, Kelsheimer said. “We have a lot of residents here that are either caring for somebody with Alzheimer’s, have Alzheimer’s themselves, or are advocates for those around the community that have it. It’s one of our biggest fundraisers and it’s something that we really try to get awareness about in the community and work with all the great chapters around Indiana.”
