PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Paris Union School District No. 95 has announced that a mutual separation agreement has been made with Jeremey Larson, the corporation’s former superintendent after investigations into grant funding usage were conducted.
According to Paris 95 interim superintendent Lorraine Bailey, the agreement will take effect on December 31, 2023 and the board will begin to search for a new superintendent immediately with the expected start date to be no later than July 1, 2024.
Bailey also noted that the district will be working with the Illinois Association of School Boards to make sure the district gets the best possible candidate for the position.
Throughout the search, Bailey will continue to serve as the interim superintendent. Bailey also noted that the district is on target with the Corrective Action Plans and payback plans with the state that were ordered after the grant funding investigation.
Bailey said the district will continue to keep the public updated as more information is available to share.
Bailey also noted that as the board has already taken action the specifics of the separation agreement document are public information.
