SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — In Sullivan on Friday, there was an inauguration ceremony for city officials.
Mayor-elect J.D. Wilson, the Sullivan City Council members, and the clerk-treasurer were sworn in. Wilson was uncontested in seeking the mayor’s seat and he said the transition has been seamless.
He also said outgoing mayor Clint Lamb’s leadership put the city in a great place and on Friday, Wilson shared his vision going forward.
“Continue the growth. Continue the population growth, the development of Sullivan, taking some of these areas and just turning it around. Giving the citizens what they want, so I’m going to get out there. I’m going to talk to citizens. I’m going to put some teams together, internal teams too. The comprehensive master plan hasn’t been updated in 10 years. I’m going to work on that. I’m going to get to work Monday and we’re going to make this community even better than what it is today,” Wilson said.
