TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Fans of one popular holiday film got the chance to get a behind the scenes look during a presentation at the Vigo County Historical Museum on Saturday.
The presentation on “It’s a Wonderful Life” went over many details that you may have not caught while watching or got deleted from the film all together. Marshall librarian, Jamie Poorman, also went into the background of those involved and spoke about the inspiration behind the beloved movie.
She says that the message of the movie is one that is timeless and there’s no better time than the holidays to discuss it. She hopes events like this help keep its memory alive.
“I feel like it is so important to tell these stories. If we don’t, they are going to be forgotten, especially around Christmas time with this movie that everyone knows and loves to share the messages and history behind it,” said Poorman.
Poorman also wanted to add why she chose this film to do a presentation about.
“I have loved this movie for years. This is a compilation of all of the things I have learned and picked up on over the years of watching it for my enjoyment. I never really set out to do a presentation about this, however, it was something that I loved doing research on,” added Poorman.
She says that she plans to do something similar to this with another film next holiday season.
