VINCENNES, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Christmas is just around the corner and the Red Skelton Museum in Vincennes is getting ready for a groovy celebration.
Next week, the museum will host a Christmas with the Beatles event. You will hear a Beatles tribute band along with comedy and other acts.
Anne Pratt with the Red Skelton Museum joined Shelby and Julie Friday morning on WTWO Today to discuss the event. You can see her full interview in the video box at the top of the page.
“We’ve had a lot of great success with tribute bands in the last two years,” explains event organizer Anne Pratt with the Red Skelton Museum. “[The band] reached out in the Spring and wanted to come here so we are excited to get them here.”
She adds, “With Red Skelton, you think variety show. You think of lots of fun happening so, while it’s a great Beatles tribute band, there are also some Beatles comedians, we have a Beatles puppeteer.”
The event will take place on Thursday, December 14 at 20 West Red Skelton Boulevard, Vincennes, IN 47591. The show starts at 7:00 PM, so make sure to arrive early for some lobby entertainment. Tickets are $20 – $30, and you’ll want to get your tickets in advance.
“They really have put together a fun evening for people. We’re excited.”
Continuing Skelton’s legacy of giving to the community
Those who attend can help people in need right here in the Wabash Valley. Organizers are collecting items for those in need in the community.
“That’s so in line with what Red Skelton would have done. He had a needy Christmas clothing fund that has been going since 1964.”
Needed items include:
- Hats
- Gloves
- Scarves
