TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – With the holiday season around the corner, a local antique store will be hosting a holiday open house to give people an opportunity to find one-of-a-kind gifts and decorations.
Missy and Sissy’s Treasures will be hosting its second annual Holiday Open House event from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2. People can expect several discounts, with the whole store at 15% off, extra store sales, door prizes, 50% off tables, and more.
Co-owners of Missys and Sissys Treasures, Jeff Blake and Missy Schaumleffel opened their store after having other booths at various other antique stores throughout town and wanted to have a place of their own.
“So many people go by or come into the store and have driven by for a year and a half and never knew what was here and finally stopped and couldn’t believe how large it was and how nice it was and it’s a great feeling,” Jeff Blake, Co-owner said.
Blake noted that the holiday open house gives people in the community a chance to explore the store and find great gifts for the holiday while also getting a chance to enjoy some nostalgic shopping.
“Our response was so good last year from the people really, really excited about Christmas and finding great deals for gifts and decorations. We couldn’t wait to do it again,” Blake said. “Probably the best thing of all with the open house, some people come in and they spend a lot of time here just looking around and it’s fun to hear them just reminisce about, ‘my grandma had that’ or ‘my mom had that,’ and it just brings back so many memories for people, it’s just fun and when they find something they really like, it found a new forever home and it’s special.”
