VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The American Rescue Plan Act gave city and county governments across the nation funding to pay for many community projects.
With many groups enacting so many projects, keeping plans, projects, and funding straight can be a difficult task. With that in mind, Vigo County and City of Terre Haute leaders have come together to create a website that organizes news and official documents regarding area ARPA funding plans.
“The key measure of success to disbursing ARPA funds and other critical dollars is collaboration, having a seamless relationship with the city to ensure we are serving our community to the best of our ability,” President of the Vigo County Commissioners Mike Morris said. “Our community is transforming right before our eyes, and the website will encourage community involvement throughout the process.”
According to officials, Terre Haute received just over $35,900,000 in ARPA funds with Vigo County receiving just under $28,800,000. Of the total $56.7M, officials have allocated approximately $33,265,781 so far.
In addition to a project tracker page, the website will feature local news articles that mention ARPA funding, with each categorized in a visibly distinct manner if the article has to do with County or City projects. The website also features a contact page that connects area residents with decision-makers regarding ARPA funding.
