KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Camp Wildwood has been awarded a $5,000 donation thanks to the charitable group 100 Women Who Care Knox County.
According to a release, the donation amount should increase as group members who were unable to attend the July 26 meeting continue to donate toward Camp Wildwood.
According to 100 Women Who Care Knox County Core Committee member Ellen Parmenter, On Average, chosen organizations receive approximately $12,000 once all donations have been counted.
During the group’s third quarter meeting held at Good Samaritan Hospital, three organizations presented their case for donations, Camp Wildwood, First City Sunrise, and the Pantheon.
Camp Wildwood is a non-profit organization. The camp’s website explains the organization’s mission of preserving the property.
“The Camp Wildwood Foundation mission statement is to preserve Camp Wildwood as a community asset and to utilize the camp for educational, religious, and recreational activities and events for youths, families, and groups of Knox County, Indiana,” the website reads.

The group will meet for their fourth quarter meeting during the month of October, with the presenting non-profit organizations to be announced at a later date.
