INDIANA (WTWO/WAWV) — Applications for reserved hunts are open and hunters can apply online until August 6.
According to a release from the DNR, the only way to apply for the hunts listed below is online. There are also no late entries accepted and applicants must have a valid hunting license for the hunt they are applying for.
Hunters can apply for a variety of reserved hunts online at the DNR Reserved Hunt Information webpage.
The Indiana Private Lands Access (IPLA) program has also now moved to reserved hunts and is no longer available through the self-service sign-in system.
Again, applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on August 6.
The following are open for reserved hunt applications:
- Dove Hunts: Applicants may select the desired date and property. Due to inclement spring weather, other crops may have been planted in place of or along with sunflowers. Participating properties include J. E. Roush Lake, Wilbur Wright, Kingsbury, Kankakee, Atterbury, Pigeon River, Glendale, Goose Pond, and Jasper-Pulaski Fish & Wildlife Areas (FWAs).
- Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) Youth Deer Hunt: Muscatatuck NWR will host one reserved firearms deer hunt for youth.
- Big Oaks National Wildlife Refuge Deer Hunts: Big Oaks NWR will host archery, muzzleloader, and firearms hunts.
- IPLA Hunts: IPLA will offer reserved hunts for squirrels, archery deer, youth deer, teal, and early goose on private lands.
The hunters chosen for the reserved hunts will be selected through a random computerized drawing. Applicants can view the results online within two weeks after the application period is closed. Chosen hunters will receive an email when the drawing is complete.
Only one application is allowed per hunt, and no changes can be made to applications once submitted.
