GREENE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The family of Michelle Sears is worried about her whereabouts as she has not been seen or heard from for a week.
Sears, a mother of three, was reported missing by her family after last being seen on April 21st at her dad’s house near Linton, Indiana.
Heather Fulton, Sears’s sister said her sister isn’t the type of person to just take off.
“It is not like my sister at all. Like not in any way, shape, or form like her to do this.
Fulton also reported Michelle’s ex-husband, Roger Sears, missing. Greene County Sheriff, George Dallaire says that Roger and Michelle are thought to be together. Dallaire said the sheriff’s department doesn’t believe them to be in danger, but they always err on the side of caution, as their first priority is the preservation of life.
“Even if she would’ve gone away somewhere with him, she definitely would have stayed in touch with either her kids or me or someone else, especially her children,” Fulton said.
Fulton shared her sister and Roger’s last known plans for the day they went missing.
“She was going to go to Terre Haute and then go mushroom hunting,” Fulton said. “But since then, they never came back. Since 5:00 Friday,” she added.
Fulton said it’s been very hard. She said the whole family has been to every place they can think of looking for her.
“I’ve checked with all of her friends. You know, other friends that people haven’t thought about, out-of-state friends, things like that,” Fulton said. “She’s reached out to absolutely no one. Her phone, I don’t even think it’s turned on,” she added.
Sears’ family is worried.
“They’re really, really worried. It’s definitely affected them and they’re like me, we just don’t know where to go or what to do,” Fulton said.
Greene County Detectives met with Indiana State Police and Conservation officers Friday morning. Sheriff Dallaire said he has also contacted areas outside of Greene County to help with the investigation.
Fulton pleads to her sister, “Michelle, we love you. Please, please, please come home. You know, we can work out anything and everything.”
Fulton went on to say if anyone sees her or has any information, to please reach out to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, The Indiana State Police, or a family member.
“Just please, we miss her, and we love her, and we want her home,” Fulton said.
The investigating officer assigned to the case, Zachary Goad, reported that the subjects are believed to be in a gray 2015 Toyota Prius with the following license plate: XOI617.
