PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: This section of SR 236 has been re-opened.
Original: A crash involving a semi carrying a load of logs has caused a section of SR 236 to be shut down as crews work to clean up the area.
According to the Parke County Sheriff’s Office, the crash has caused the closure of SR 236 from County Road 525 E to Guion Road. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
According to Deputy Chris McCann of the Parke County Sheriff’s Office, the call of an overturned semi came into dispatch at approximately 3:18 p.m.
When crews arrived on scene, they found that the driver of the semi was trapped inside. McCann said the driver was alert and able to talk to first responders. Once crews were able to get the driver out of the vehicle the driver was flown to a hospital in Indianapolis.
