KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Knox County officials are now one step closer to ousting Knox County Coroner Karen Donovan following allegations of official misconduct and neglected official duties as well as her arrest.
The Knox County Commissioners met Tuesday morning for their regular meeting during which they discussed and voted on a joint resolution calling for the judicial removal of Karen Donovan from the county coroner position.
The resolution passed unanimously in a 3-0 vote.
Next, the resolution will go to the county council, which will meet next Tuesday for its regular meeting. If the council votes to pass the resolution, the document will be given to the Knox County Prosecutor J Dirk Carnahan.
Knox County Republican Chairman David Shelton said at that point the decision to file the resolution would be up to the prosecutor.
