PARIS, Ill. (WTWO/WAWV) — Students attending Paris Union School District No. 95 may soon be riding to school in brand new buses after the district announced the purchase of several new vehicles.
According to Paris Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeremy Larson, the district recently acquired 16 new vehicles to accommodate the needs of students. Of the new fleet of 16, two are SUVs, four are white buses, while the remaining 10 are what Larson describes as “state-of-the-art” yellow school buses.
When explaining why the buses are considered state-of-the-art, Larson said each vehicle is equipped with GPS tracking, allowing parents to access route information online.
Each school bus will also be equipped with six surveillance cameras.
Larson added that the district will be “implementing robust security measures across all vehicles.”
Larson thanked MSB Transportation and Zack Hollingsworth among others for assistance in making this acquisition possible.
