PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Parke County REMC is breaking ground on a new headquarters for its services.
The group purchased 15 acres along East Highway 36 to build a new facility that will have all their employees and equipment under one roof. Parke County REMC is a rural electric member-owned cooperative that serves parts of six local counties.
Parke County REMC’s CEO, Chadd Jenkins, said their current location on the Rockville town square has been their home since the 1940s.
“It’s a huge step to move after 80 years, 80 years or so, so it’s going to be a great day when we can finally move in and celebrate our new home hopefully for the next 85 years,” said Jenkins. “This will allow us to respond quicker. It also allows more centrally located for employees to come because we do pull employees from all six counties as well.”
The goal is for the new headquarters to be moved into by December of 2023.
