VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Update: The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the person who died in this crash as 22-year-old John Waggoner of Terre Haute.
1st Update: One person has died following a crash involving a passenger vehicle and motorcycle, according to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.
A press release indicates that deputies responded to the crash at US Highway 41 and Old Royse Road at 3:39 p.m.
The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the hospital and the occupants of the passenger vehicle were not injured.
No names have been released and the crash remains under investigation.
Original: According to Vigo County Dispatch, parts of US 41 are closed down due to an accident.
Dispatch said it’s in the area of South 7th Street and US 41 for a motorcycle vs vehicle accident.
A deputy with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office said the passenger on the motorcycle was taken to a local hospital then life lined to another facility.
The wreck happened at around 3:30 p.m.
