KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WAWV/WTWO) – An organization has two upcoming events to raise funds in support of the Good Samaritan Breast Care Center.
Think Pink is a group based out of Robinson, Illinois that aims to raise funds to assist patients who may need breast care. Since 2010, the group has raised more than $100,000 to support Good Samaritan patients.
Think Pink’s continued efforts with Good Samaritan Breast Care Center will go to help patients in need of financial assistance for a breast cancer screening.
Think Pink Leader, and breast cancer survivor, Kathy Arnold said these efforts provide a lot of positivity to the community.
“Being a part of our Think Pink group has brought so much joy and satisfaction,” Arnold said. “It means so much to me when I see the positive impact we have on women and men who have been able to receive needed mammograms and ultrasounds. I saw firsthand the impact these donations make when a friend was diagnosed with breast cancer and had no insurance. She was able to get the tests she needed because of the Good Samaritan Foundation and the money we have donated.”
Think Pink recently hosted two events that both raised over $1,000 dollars and plan to raise even more in the near future.
On Aug. 11 a Dine and Donate event at Texas Roadhouse will take place from 3 to 9:30 p.m. 10% of the customer’s ticket will be given to Think Pink when showing the fundraiser flyer to the server, all flyers can be found on Good Samaritan’s Facebook page.
The group’s largest event of the year, the Think Pink Ride will take place on October 8. This will be the 12th year for the ride, and registration will begin at 8 a.m. CT in Robinson, Illinois at the Mach One parking lot, 301 W. Main Street, and the bikes roll out at 9 a.m. The route will include stops at Good Samaritan Cancer Pavilion, Loogootee, Bedford, Linton, and back to Robinson. The event will cost $15 per person.
