INDIANAPOLIS – More than a dozen people, including a Terre Haute man, have been taken into custody as part of a federal meth trafficking investigation.
The U.S. States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana announced Friday that 18 people were indicted by a federal grand jury on drug trafficking and money laundering charges.
Authorities say fifteen people were taken into federal custody in Indianapolis, Columbus, Seymour, Terre Haute and Detroit, Michigan.
Authorities say those taken into custody include John Whiffing, 47, of Terre Haute on a charge of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.
Three people are still at large in the investigation.
Authorities say the investigation resulted in the seizure of about 82 pounds of meth, about 1,750 fentanyl pills, about 35 grams of fentanyl, about 1 kilogram of cocaine, about 4 pounds of marijuana and a large quantity of suspected THC gummies.
Authorities also seized about $9,000 in U.S. currency as suspected drug proceeds, as well as nine firearms.
