TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute firefighters battled a blaze Wednesday afternoon at a vacant house on South 13 1/2 Street in Terre Haute, Ind.
Terre Haute Battalion Chief Fred Hamblen said when crews arrived heavy flames were showing, but crews were able to put the fire put out fairly quickly.
Hamblen said there are no utilities hooked up to the house. He also said, it was a known spot where homeless people stayed. No injuries were reported.
The cause remains under investigation, although in an email sent Wednesday THFD Chief Bill Berry said it is suspected arson. Follow MyWabashValley.com for updates.
