ROCKVILLE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Parke County Health Department announced on Facebook Thursday that the COVID-19 test site in Rockville, Ind. will be closed until the new year.
According to the post, rapid tests are in short supply at this time and the testing site, located at 395 Parkway Drive, in Rockville, had its shipment not arrive. Additionally, the post said there is no one available who can administer PCR tests, so there is no choice other than closing for the day.
“We understand what an inconvenience this is and are truly apologetic,” the post read. “Drive through testing is available at the CVS in Rockville, and they do have rapid tests available for purchase. The Vermillion County Health Department is open for PCR testing today, and there is a drive through site open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Vigo County Fairgrounds.”
County health officials said the anticipate the site to reopen on Monday, Jan. 3.
