TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — You may have noticed helicopters over the Terre Haute area on Friday.
Indiana State Police Sergeant Matt Ames said the Indiana State National Guard was working with State Police Marijuana Eradication Officers.
He said the helicopters were used in an attempt to locate marijuana.
“Army National Guard aviation assets were conducting operation in support of law enforcement agencies,” Master Sgt. Jeff Lowery of the Indiana National Guard Public Affairs Office said in a statement to MyWabashValley.com. “The altitude, flight patterns and loiter time were in accordance with the operations they were supporting.”
