BRAZIL, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Brazil Concert Band will perform its newest concert piece, titled “Marching Through the Galaxy” at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8, in Forest Park; the event will go on rain or shine.
The band will be playing two pieces by film composer John Williams, “Star Wars Medley” with “Main Title” and “Princess Leia’s Theme”, arranged by John Tatgenhorst, and “Star Wars-The Marches” with “Parade Of The Ewoks” and “The Imperial March” arranged by Jerry Brubaker. Also by Williams, the BCB will play “Raiders March” from the Indiana Jones franchise.
Band members said they are excited to play “A Rhapsody Of Reruns” arranged by Paul Jennings, which includes classic television themes such as “McHale’s Navy”, “The Addams Family”, “Leave It To Beaver”, “Gilligan’s Island” and “M*A*S*H”. From the works of John Philip Sousa, the BCB will include “Glory Of The Yankee Navy” and from his suite “Cubaland”, the second movement titled “Under The American Flag”.
This week, the group Christmas in the Park will serve hamburgers and cheeseburgers from the Forest Park Concession Stand. The Brazil Concert Band performs each Sunday through the end of August.
