TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – A local organization that helps survivors of domestic abuse may suspend residential service next month.
The Council on Domestic Abuse (CODA)
announced online
that the residential services will be suspended Sept. 14
CODA staff cited long delays in contract reimbursements from state-awarded grants and operating costs as reasons for the suspension.
Survivors of domestic abuse will still be helped by CODA staff in finding safe housing, and non-residential services will continue to be offered.
The agency needs $150,000 to restore residential services. The CODA announcement said if 1,000 donors gave $150, the goal would be met.
Keep checking back with WTWO/WAWV for more information on this developing story.
