TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thursday, people were able to give the gift of life and get a sweet treat in return, as Versiti Blood Center in Terre Haute partnered with the Girl Scouts for Thin Mint Thursday.
Everyone who went in and attempted to give blood received a free box of Thin Mint Girl Scout cookies in return.
“Every 3 seconds someone needs a blood product of any kind you know where there’s a transfusion a car accident a surgery you name it so keeping our blood supply healthy is our main goal right and we always want to make sure there’s blood on the shelves right now currently we’re running really low on our O donations so we need the gift of life constantly,” said Denena Edwards, Donor Services Director at Versiti Blood Center.
If you weren’t able to make it Thursday, the center is open every week, Wednesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
