TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Terre Haute Convention Center will host its second annual New Year’s Eve party.
This year’s theme is the Great Gatsby. Organizers urge you to dress to impress in your finest 1920s attire and enjoy an evening full of elegance, excitement and non-stop fun.
Pam Chamberlain and chef Bill Hawkins joined Shelby and David Tuesday morning on WTWO Today to talk about the event and cook up a delicious gourmet grilled cheese that will be featured on the New Year’s Eve menu. You can see the full segment in the video box at the top of your screen.
Chamberlain said, “We found people like to dress up and do different stuff so, we kind of brainstormed as a committee and picked the Gatsby and, I said, anything you can bring old school to something new, let’s do it.”
Chamberlain explained they want guests to feel like they are being transported back to the 1920s. “When we open the grand doors, you’ll kind of go through a tunnel where it will make you feel like you’re entering the 1920s again. We’ve rented a bunch of vintage furniture. We just want people to relax [and] have fun. It’s a safe environment. We’ll have security there; lots of fun and food, so we’re really excited to bring it to Terre Haute.”
Attendees must be 21 or older. Doors open at 7:30 P.M for VIP and General Admission. Space for the event will be limited. Tickets are advance sales. Organizers say on-site sales are not guaranteed on the day of the event. No refunds.

Multiple food options including gourmet grilled cheese!
A New Year’s Eve celebration wouldn’t be complete without great food options. The event will offer a wide range of food stations offering tasty items like gourmet grilled cheese with plenty of toppings to choose from.
Food will be available from 8:00 P.M. – 9:30 p.m.
