TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — If you’re wanting to use a real Christmas tree this year, you might want to buy one soon.
With Christmas right around the corner most places are having a hard time keeping trees in stock, but one local group still has plenty.
The Terre Haute Breakfast Optimist Club are selling real Christmas trees next to Southland Center’s parking lot. Prices on the trees range anywhere between $85 to $50, with all proceeds going to the club.
The Terre Haute Breakfast Optimist Club is a volunteer organization that conducts fundraising events throughout the year and contributes the money raised to charitable organizations that benefit local youth.
Board Member Connor Scanlon said this holiday season has been busy for them.
“About 253 trees we started with. We’re down to about 80. We’ll probably be near or out at the end of the weekend. I defiantly feel like it has been a busier year for people wanting trees. Even just today I had a family came that have never gotten a real tree before,” Scanlon said.
Hours are Monday through Friday 3 to 8 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m to 9 p.m., and Sunday 12 to 6 p.m. To keep update on what they have in stock check out their Facebook page.
