VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man was taken into custody through K-9 apprehension after leading law enforcement on a short pursuit.
According to the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office, detectives were investigating a report of a stolen camper when the investigation led them to the 2300 block of S. 10th ½ street. When the officers located the stolen camper, the driver began to flee from the deputies and a short pursuit began.
The sheriff’s office also said that the driver was stopped when the vehicle crashed along the railroad tracks of Poplar and S. 10th ½ Streets. The driver, Rocky Dixon, 30, was then apprehended via K-9 and taken into custody.
After being transported for medical treatment and being cleared, Dixon was taken to the Vigo County Jail and preliminarily charged with the following:
- Two counts of felony Intimidation with a deadly weapon
- Resisting Law Enforcement felony
- Resisting Law Enforcement misdemeanor
- Driving While Suspended Prior
