TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Terre Haute Catholic Charities has some events coming up as we get closer to the Thanksgiving Holiday to help make the season brighter for local families.
On November 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., they’ll hold their annual turkey distribution through the Catholic Charities’ Bread and Produce Market which takes place on the third Saturday of the month. The facility is located at 430 North 14 1/2 Street, in the new garage at Catholic Charities Foodbank. Anyone is welcome to join who is in need of a little extra food.
A Thanksgiving dinner will also be held this week on Wednesday, November 15 at Ryves Youth Center.
“There’s two times that people can stop by for that. One will be during our normal soup kitchen hours which are 11:30 until 1:30 back at Ryves Youth Center in the lower level, and then again that evening beginning around 4:30. We’ll have our family night, which we do once a month. The month is going to be focused around that Thanksgiving meal and Thanksgiving theme,” Jennifer Tames Assistant Agency Director for Terre Haute Catholic Charities said.
And those who missed Catholic Charities’ Christmas store registrations, which helps to brighten Christmas by providing items for local families in need, will still have a chance to sign up. Those make-up times will be from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20, and Tuesday, November 21.
