VIGO CO, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– Several upcoming memorial and visitation services have been announced for the Prairieton Firefighter who died in the line of duty on Thursday.
The visitation for Dave Phelps will be held on Tuesday, November 7th at the DeBaun Springhill Chapel from 4-8 p.m. The Indiana Volunteer Firefighter Association will host a memorial at the end of the visitation. The funeral will be the next day, November 8th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The burial will be at the New Harmony cemetery, and Line of Duty death honors will be administered by the fire service.
Phelps served on the Prairieton Fire Department for nearly 60 years, and he was named “Mr. IVFA” to honor his career earlier this year. Phelps is survived by his wife and two children.
