TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Indiana State University has recognized two groups of employees for their service, and impact, on the university.
Five employees were recognized as University Medallion Recipients during this year’s ceremony held Thursday morning. The recognition is considered the highest honor for university staff members.
A second group of employees were also recognized during the festivities. That group consisted of employees hitting milestones of experience.
Awards were given for folks hitting 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, and 45 years of service in the last year.
“The people who are going to be in this room are the heartbeats of the university,” ISU President Deborah Curtis said. “They’ve kept us going not only through good times but through pandemic times. Keep delivering on our mission to educate more students and graduate them and these are the people who keep us marching down the road.”
The University Medallion was established in 1997 and has only been awarded to 148 individuals during its existence.
