SULLIVAN, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – One of two men charged in connection to a deadly 2021 shooting has accepted a plea deal.
Kyle Johnson appeared in Sullivan County Court Friday where he pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.
His sentencing is scheduled for October 27. He could receive a maximum of 35 years.
Johnson was originally charged with murder in the case along with Matthew Earle. Both men were arrested in connection to a June 2021 shooting in Carlisle.
Mezmariah Wilson, 15, of Shelburn was killed after authorities say shots were fired into a crowd of people.
Earle’s next court hearing date is pending.
