TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Thanks to the Duke Energy Foundation, the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club will receive $10,000 to support their after-school program.
With the new school year underway, the Duke Energy Foundation donated the funds to support children in the community. Duke Energy Government and Community Relations Manager Rick Burger met with the Terre Haute Boys & Girls Club CEO Bobby Moore at 3:30 p.m. on Monday to award the grant funding to the local organization.
The Terre Haute Boys & Girls Club after-school program offers kids across the community services like homework help, snacks and a hot meal, and the opportunity to participate in structured activities.
The money will go towards supplies, tutors, bus drivers, and scholarships designed to support students from low-income households. Every day the Terre Haute Boys & Girls Club welcomes 80 kids spanning grades K-12 to participate in the after-school program.
