PARKE COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Shelbyville man has died after a boating incident in Raccoon Lake on Sunday.
According to the Department of Natural Resources, dispatch received a 911 call at 4:11 p.m. reporting that an unconscious man had been pulled from the lake by other boaters after he had previously dove into the water from a boat.
The incident reportedly occurred near the north end of Raccoon Lake.
First responders attempted life-saving efforts, but could not revive the man. The Parke County Coroner then pronounced Dennis Kitsko, 64, of Shelbyville as deceased at the scene of the incident.
According to DNR, the incident remains under investigation, and a cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.
DNR thanked the Bellmore Fire Department, Parke County EMS and the Parke County Sheriff’s Office for assistance in the incident.
