TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Dozens of families came out Happiness Bag Saturday to get a look at all the great community resources available in the Wabash Valley.
The Disability Resource Fair is a part of a statewide slate of resource fairs. Their goal is to shine light on all of the community resources to all in need across the state.
This is the second year this venue has hosted one of these fairs. Officials say that they plan to do one every year.
Jessica Garber is the marketing director for Connections Case Management, and she explains the significance of this fair’s format.
“It’s a one-stop-shop kind of situation so that everyone can come in and get to know resources throughout the community. It’s for individuals with all types of disabilities. We are trying to cater to everybody in that population to be able to help them to find the resources they need.”
A lot of people that come to these fairs have certain things in mind that they are looking for. These events are so helpful because they people like Garber that are able to get them exactly what they need.
“A lot of times people come in and have specific questions they are trying to answer. Being in the field for so long, I know a lot of the vendors that are here and am able to point them in the right direction. It’s nice for me to be able to support folks,” added Garber.
The next resource fair hosted in this series will be at Casey Services in Marion.
