VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — The Vigo County YMCA is doing its own spin on a kickball league.
This league consists of people who are differently abled or require special needs eighteen years of age and older. The league will be about teaching the participants how to play kickball and have fun with their peers.
Leagues of this kind do not exist anywhere else in Vigo County. It is $40 to join if you are a member and $60 if you are not.
Macey Elden is the sports director of The Y and talks about why a league of this kind is important in our area.
“This is a part of the community that doesn’t have much going on for them, so we wanted to be able to be all inclusive and have a fun and safe environment for all of them around here,” Elden said.
The league plans to start on September 11. All that are interested can sign up by asking about the league at the Vigo County YMCA.
