VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) – Everyone’s talking about the newest Barbie movie and in celebration, a local museum stepped into the Barbie world.
The Vigo County History Center shared a collection of vintage Barbie dolls from throughout the years with their collection including a rare discontinued 1963 Midge doll.
Curator Suzy Quick said some things at the history center go beyond Vigo County such as this Barbie collection which brings back fond memories for people from all over.
“Some of the things that we display and we collect here are relative because they’re culturally relative. People can relate to them because they are part of their lives. They’re part of our daily lives and for a lot of people growing up Barbie was part of their life,” Quick said,
The museum also had a life-sized Barbie box from local selfie business, Snapped, so that people could pose inside the box for a photo.
While the Barbie box will only be at the history center for a day, the center always has its Barbie exhibit available to see.
