TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– A week of faith and service will begin Monday for the members of the Maryland Community Church.
Starting on Monday and running through Friday, children from sixth to twelfth grade will take part in Christ-like service in Terre Haute. The service will include free home repairs for six residents that are physically or financially unable to do so themselves.
The motto that this week represents is that faith without deeds is debt. This meaning that these members want to do more than just verbally express their faith.
It also gives people the chance to give back to their community in a big way.
Vince Chan is the Youth Pastor and one of the leaders of this week’s projects and has this to say about what this week means to him.
“To me, it means everything. As a student pastor, we talk all the time to our students about stepping out into our community, about serving in our community and to see them actually do that means a lot. To see them also grow in their faith as well,” he said.
