TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV)– A number of Duke Energy officials spoke in Terre Haute on Sunday to address thousands of ongoing power outages caused by Thursday’s storm.
Duke Energy manager Rick Burger was joined by Stan Pinegar, the President for Duke Energy Indiana, for a press conference around 3 p.m. They said that they expect a majority of these outages to be repaired by midnight on Sunday, and any remaining outages to be fixed by midday Monday at the latest. They thanked the crews that have been working around the clock since Thursday, including hundreds who came from out of state.
Local government officials, including Terre Haute Mayor Duke Bennett and the Vigo County Commissioners, were also in attendance. WTWO’s Zach Stidham was there and will have more on what residents can expect.
