VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A Terre Haute man facing child molestation charges will have his jury trial in October after appearing in Vigo County Court.
According to court records, Teubrian Nicholson, 23, appeared in Vigo County Superior Court 1 on June 7 for his pre-trial conference. A day after, Nicholson would have his motion for continuance granted, pushing his June 20 trial to Oct. 16 at 1 p.m.
A probable cause affidavit filed in the case reveals that the family of a pre-teen girl reported that Nicholson had raped her on multiple occasions during a two-month period of 2022.
During a forensic interview with a social worker at Suzie’s Place, the victim would say that Nicholson had threatened her family, should she speak up about what had happened.
The victim’s grandmother told police that the girl admitted that Nicholson had kissed her, and had sexual intercourse with her, but that she was scared to say anything due to Nicholson’s threats of violence toward her family.
A Warrant for Nicholson’s arrest was issued on June 21, 2022. Jail records indicate Nicholson was found and arrested on July 1, 2022. Nicholson remains in custody of the Vigo County Jail with a bond set at $100,000 with no 10% allowed.
Court records indicate that Nicholson will appear in court for a pre-trial hearing on September 27. With Nicholson’s jury trial set for October 16 at 1 p.m.
